이화여자대학교에서 유전학을 전공하였으며, 같은 대학과 대학원에서 전임강사 및 특임교수로 있으면서 유전학과 일반생물학을 주로 가르쳤다. 삼성생명과학연구소에서는 수년간 인간의 유전 질병과 관련하여 인체유전학 분야를 연구하였다. 초보자를 위한 책 [생명에 대한 이해(1~3판)]를 썼으며, [핵심유전학]과 [비주얼 핵심생명과학]을 번역하였고, 이 외에도 [캠벨 생명과학], [핵심 세포생물학], [기초 분자생물학], [유전학 원론] 등 다수의 교재 번역에 참여하였다. 현재는 몇몇 대학에서 유전학과 일반생물학, 분자생물학 등 관련 과목의 강의를 맡아 학생들과 만나고 있다.
I majored in genetics at Ewha Womans University and mainly taught genetics and general biology while serving as a full-time lecturer and Special teaching Professor at the same university and graduate school. At Samsung Life Science Research Institute, I studied the field of human genetics in relation to human genetic disease for several years. I wrote [Understanding Life (1st to 3rd editions)] for beginners and translated [Essential Genetics] and [Biology, the core]. In addition, I participated in the translation of several textbooks including [Campbell Life Science], [Cell Biology, a short course], [Fundamental Molecular Biology], [Principles of Genetics]. Currently, I teach lectures on related subjects such as genetics, general biology, and molecular biology at several universities and meet with students.
